7/16 inch ProCraft Comet Swivel Hooks

Are made from case hardened steel and are not to be pressed closed.   Comet swivel hooks are designed to allow cross chain to rotate on the side chain to promote even wear on all sides of the cross chain.    It can be used with regular twist link, and alloy square link.   Best results are obtained on alloy square link.   These hooks make it easy to replace broken cross chains in the field and can be re-used.

This size hook is suitable for used on 9/32 or 5/16 inch side chain, with 5/16 or 3/8 inch diameter cross chain.

It is tricky to install these hooks at first because of the very close tolerance fit that helps retain the cross chain.   Feed hook through the side chain, angle the hook to get smallest opening against side chain, place cross chain between link on side chain, then swivel hook to capture cross chain.   It is hard at first, but after you get the hang of it - installation becomes easier.
