Scorpion studded twist link is the most extreme cross chain on the market today. It should only be used off road due the the long case hardened studs crowning each link. This cross chain has been heat treated and case hardened and provides the highest height off the tire for deep snow, mud, and ice traction. The studs will take all the wear until worn down, then the base twist link starts to wear. For that reason, studded cross chain has the longest service life and maximum traction. One drawback is that the high off the tire profile makes for a very rough ride on hard pack.
Scorpion studded twist link cross chain is machine resistance welded and case hardened for abrasion resistance and durability. The finished product is tumbled, polished, and clear laquer coated for a clean inspectable finish. We do not use paint, or zinc plated finishes that can often hide material voids, or weld imperfections.
